Knit, knit, knit

The Rowena Cardigan from "Knit 2 Together".  I had needed another ball of yarn - which delayed finishing this - but finally it has all come together.

And it is a good fit - phew! The last 2 days has seen a marked improvement in the weather - if it stays this way I may not get to wear this too much as it will be too hot.
I bought 3 different ribbons - so I can change according to the outfit.

And this is my next wip - the Tropical Garden Vest Mark 2 - I am making this for my sister - the main colour is a dark charcoal and I am using the same other colours as I used in mine - because there was a lot of yarn left over.

Finished and posted

Well knitting for young children is certainly a lot quicker...
It looks a little like a bumble bee - but I'll try and get a picture of the child in it.

In the interim

While awaiting my ball of wool for the Rowena cardigan I started on this - it is Baby Hoodie from Blue Sky Alpacas and designed by Bobbi IntVeld. It is for a 1-2 year old (my niece's). I bought the wool via the web and the colours didn't quite turn out as expected. Even in the photo they are not quite true. I guess it's all a learning curve.

And at the weekend I did a long-day trip to Seoul. I went to buy some more of the templates and then was seduced by the paper also. Some of the trays will be that spare, muted colouring and then...

some might be a bit more radical. I love all this paper - it is delicious. I just need to work out how to get the colours right in photos - it's probably the white balance or something - arghhh - technicals....

Lying low

Oops - long time no post. I've had a bit of a cold or bug - or maybe a reaction to the yellow dust that apparently blows across from China at this time of year. Whichever it is it is taking a while to shake. Still not going out so much has meant more time at home doing 'things'.

This is the Rowena cardigan from "Knit 2 Together". I am now working on the neck band but I think I am going to need an extra ball of wool so it could be a couple of weeks away from finishing.
And I've been playing around with more paper/decoupage trays - still refining my techniques. The 2 on the left have been varnished and the others are awaiting that.
Now I had better go find that extra ball of wool from someone's stash - as it is now discontinued.
